Abstract National stereotypes are inherently evaluative, often negatively, and potentially prejudicial. While research has examined from an organisational perspective, this is overwhelmingly in experimental settings involving students ( Landy, 2008 ); other words not workplaces, employees doing their jobs. Through a corpus-assisted discourse analysis of 53 authentic business meetings, study finds that among certain communities, national used workplace narratives, argues such narratives constitute contextual, situated social practice. The novel methodology pinpoints categorises all business-meeting before discussing what role they play indexing the identities stereotyped stereotyping. Finally, evaluation, ideology power critically engaged with to explain use or non-use, thus making theoretical contribution studies stereotyping discourse. ethically problematic, detrimental success, may be motivated by local goals.
